Legislative Summit at The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (Feb. 23-25, 2026)
Monday, February 23, 2026 5:00 PM - Wednesday, February 25, 2026 5:00 PM (EST)
Description
New for 2026: NAFTZ's Legislative Summit & Congressional Visits will be held at The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center Building in the heart of downtown DC's Federal Triangle! Attendees will be able to make their own hotel accommodations for this event.
The tariff tides are shifting fast — and with every new announcement from Washington, U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones feel the impact first. The NAFTZ Legislative Summit is your chance to make sure policymakers hear directly from the businesses and communities living with the consequences.
Across three days in Washington, DC, NAFTZ members and attendees will gather to sharpen their advocacy message, brief lawmakers and staff on real-world impacts, and stand united as the voice of the FTZ community.
This isn’t just another meeting — it’s a front-line moment for defending jobs, investment, and competitiveness in a turbulent trade environment. We’ll dive deep into the issues at the heart of our advocacy agenda: from evolving tariff policies to regulatory hurdles and beyond. You’ll get a clear picture of how we’re tackling each challenge and what that means for your zone’s future.
Plus, we’re not sending you in cold. We’ll dedicate time to prepare every attendee who will join congressional visits on the final day. Expect practical briefings, talking points, and real-time Q&A so that when you walk into a lawmaker’s office or meet with congressional representatives in your home district, you’ll be ready to make your case confidently.
We invite speakers from CBP, the Foreign Trade Zones Board, Congress, the Department of Commerce, the Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Trade Representative, and other trade associations. Their schedules may shift, but our message won’t: FTZs matter, and our story must be told.
Join us at The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington this February to ensure the FTZ program remains strong, resilient, and central to America’s trade future.
Program at a Glance
Monday, February 23 – Kickoff Reception
The Summit begins with connection. Join FTZ professionals from across the country for an evening reception that sets the tone for the days ahead. This is where the network is built, ideas are exchanged, and the groundwork for advocacy begins.
Tuesday, February 24 – Legislative Summit
Day Two is about clarity and preparation. Through panels, briefings, and interactive sessions, we’ll examine the shifting tariff environment and the regulatory issues shaping the FTZ program. We’ve invited speakers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the FTZ Board, Congress, the Department of Commerce, the Department of the Treasury, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and other trade associations. Schedules change, but our focus remains the same: equipping you with the insights and tools to carry the FTZ message forward. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with clear talking points, refined strategies, and the confidence to represent your company and the FTZ community.
Wednesday, February 25 – Capitol Hill Day
The Summit culminates in action. Armed with preparation and united in purpose, participants head to Capitol Hill for scheduled meetings with lawmakers and staff. This is the moment to share real-world impacts, defend competitiveness, and ensure policymakers understand the essential role FTZs play in America’s economy. Every voice matters — and every conversation pushes our advocacy forward.
