Letter From NAFTZ Chairman & President

NAFTZ Has Launched a New and Ongoing Webinar Series on FTZ Advocacy

One of the cornerstones of NAFTZ member benefits is education.  Keeping abreast of the ever-changing trade environment is critical for everyone in the FTZ world.  NAFTZ offers numerous webinars throughout the year on a wide range of topics.

As you likely recall, NAFTZ conducted an in-depth survey regarding FTZ advocacy issues.  One of the clearest results of the advocacy survey was a strong desire of a majority of respondents for NAFTZ to offer more education on insight on advocacy topics to help members understand why it’s an issue, what can be done to address each issue and who these issues need to be addressed with.  In response, NAFTZ has launched an ongoing webinar series on FTZ advocacy issues (while we also continue to offer webinars on the continuum of FTZ topics).

The first webinar in the advocacy series address the 999 line limit in ACE and related issue with all combinations of HTS/COO/MID/Zone Status possible on weekly estimates.  This was one of the highest ranking issues impacting FTZ operations.  With nearly 300 members registered, this was the highest attended and also had the highest level engagement of any NAFTZ webinar to date.  The desire of the membership to learn and understand these issues was further demonstrated in this webinars attendance and the early registration numbers from upcoming advocacy issue webinars.

NAFTZ works with all of our presenters to allow us to record and offer our webinars available on-demand shortly after each webinar offering.  While there is a fee for non-members to access these webinar recordings, members can access the library of recorded webinars 24/7/365 through the new NAFTZ member InfoHub… including the recent webinar on “Weekly Estimates for every HTS/COO/MID/Zone Status Combination”.

There are currently 23 different webinar recordings available to members through the InfoHub – all included in your NAFTZ membership.  If you haven’t accessed an archived NAFTZ webinar since we launched our new website and back-office platform, here’s step by step instruction on how to do so.

If you HAVE NOT created your new log-in credentials for NAFTZ’s new website and membership system follow these steps (please note this is a one-time process for current members to establish logins for the new system):

  1. Click here:  https://members.naftz.org/MIC/Create
  2. Enter your first name, last name and email address (as is in the NAFTZ membership system)
  3. The system will guide you through the remaining steps.

If you have already completed the steps above, here’s how to access your member InfoHub:

  2. Once you are logged in, you’ll be in your personal InfoHub.  Click Resources near the bottom of the menu on the left side of the InfoHub page.

3. Click on the ‘Archived Webinars’ folder name:

4. This will take you to the available resources for Archived Webinars, with a folder for 2022 and 2023 webinars.

Be sure to re-visit your InfoHub from time to time as new resources are being added regularly.  For example this includes the freshly updated Grantee Handbook that was published exclusively through the InfoHub.

Be sure to log into your InfoHub today and sign up for upcoming webinars and events, view archived webinars, view NAFTZ member directories, see details of your NAFTZ invoices and download receipts, etc.  This area will continue to grow as we add more functionality and resources to the members only InfoHub area.  Questions?  Drop a line at jtafel@naftz.org
