Amie Ahanchian is a Principal with KPMG LLP’s Trade & Customs practice with more than 17 years of experience in global import and export compliance matters. She advises multinational companies on trade compliance and internal controls, customs duty planning and tariff mitigation strategies, FTZ implementation, and global trade technology solutions. Her experience includes assessing trade processes, identifying compliance gaps and potential areas of exposure, developing corrective action plans, documenting scalable trade processes, and enhancing import and export controls. Amie also assists companies with customs valuation, free trade agreements, tariff classification, duty drawback, first sale for export, and the implementation of compliant and efficient FTZ programs. She is a Licensed Customs Broker, a NAFTZ Accredited Zone Specialist, and an Export Control Specialist. Amie is a frequent author and speaker on trade and customs matters and serves as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center.
