Craig Pool is a recognized leader in the Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) industry. Craig began operating FTZs over 30 years ago – providing services for hundreds of FTZ projects –, and later co-founded the Foreign-Trade Zone Corporation (FTZC) in 1994—the first firm dedicated solely to FTZ consulting, operations, and software. The Foreign-Trade Zone Corporation leadership was key in establishing legislative language, and securing its inclusion into law that approved the Weekly Entry process that now saves distribution firms millions of dollars in MPF. The company’s growth and success led to its acquisition by QAD, Inc. in 2021.

Craig has assisted in helping ensure the growth of the FTZ program, including involvement in NAFTA language included in the act, working on every version of CBP’s own FTZ manual, training government agencies on FTZs, including Census, FDA, USDA, etc.,  In addition, Craig led the industry’s effort to automation of the CBP 214 (e214).  

Currently Craig focuses primarily on FTZ Inventory Control and Record Keeping systems  (FTZ Software) to assist in their compliance efficiency.
