Featured Speaker(s):  Alia Quinn and Mercedes Hernandez will highlight key steps to compliance and best practices. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.


Sr. Service FTZ Consultant with QAD Inc., Mercedes Hernandez, with over 30 years of expertise in all aspects of Customs management for North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean for leading automotive corporations and world leading manufacturing companies. Establishing and activating Foreign Trade Zones which encompass management of the U.S. Customs Border and Protection (CBP), Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Free and Secure Trade (FAST), and Importer Self-Assessment (ISA). Ms. Hernandez holds a B.A. in Logistic and Supply Chain from University of Phoenix. Active member of the National Association of Foreign Trade Zone (NAFTZ). Also a previous speaker at the Georgia Port Authority, Atlanta Marine Association, Georgia Logistics Summit, SMC 3 Jump Start, and Auburn University.

As a Specialist with Copper Hill Inc., Alia Quinn provides consulting and client support in a variety of trade practices including classification, C-TPAT, foreign-trade zones, and post entry procedures, as well as industry best practices. With over a decade of expertise in the foreign-trade zone industry, Ms. Quinn is well-versed in Customs and FTZ regulations and has hands-on experience in the implementation, operations, and day-to-day activities of FTZs in multiple industries. A Licensed Customs Broker, Certified Customs Specialist, and Accredited Zone Specialist, Ms. Quinn holds a B.A. each in both Psychology and Sociology from the University of South Florida. Ms. Quinn is a member of the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones (NAFTZ), American Association of Importer and Exporters (AAEI), and National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America, Inc., (NCBFAA)

DISCOUNTS: Join NAFTZ in order to qualify for membership discounts.

All individuals must have an NAFTZ membership to receive the NAFTZ member rate, if a substitute is requested, the substitute must have a current NAFTZ membership in order to make such a transfer. If the requested transfer is for a non-member, one would have the option to add an additional membership in order to receive the member rate or pay difference between the paid member and invoiced non-member rate.
