The NAFTZ Oops I did it again: Correcting FTZ Filing Errors Webinar is in response to event attendee Surveys requesting to cover this topic in more detail.   

This session will cover the latest developments and opportunities. This includes:

Exploring - PAC, PSC, & Protests, MDRs (touch on topic) 

Define what constitutes an amendment of 214, - track down past performance); prior disclosures, etc.   

Featured Speaker(s):  Jill James, John S. James Co. & Polia Comella, Rockefeller Group, will highlight key steps to compliance and best practices. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Jill James currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the John S. James Co. In this capacity, she oversees the design and implementation of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) services for numerous clients. These services include the execution of FTZ operations as a third-party administrator, the independent auditing of FTZ operations, and performance of the customs business required in FTZ functions. Also, her responsibilities include the establishment of import systems and procedures for various clients of the John S. James Co. She has worked with FTZ implementations on multiple levels, advising clients as to best practices to realize maximum gains from their import processes. 

Ms. James has worked for the John S. James Co. since 1991, serving in various capacities and locations in import and export operations. She has traveled extensively, and interned in Basel, Switzerland for an international logistics concern. She previously served as an officer in the International Freight Forwarders & Customs House Brokers Association of Atlanta (IFFCHB), as well as a board member of the National Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders’ Association of America (NCBFAA) Educational Institute. She participates in numerous forums and committees that help mold international trade practices on a federal level. 

Ms. James is a Licensed Customs Broker, receiving her license in 1994. She completed her undergraduate degree in International Political Science in 1991 at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA. She currently resides in Savannah, GA. 

The John S. James Co. is a family-owned provider of international and domestic logistics services. Founded in 1941, the company is a respected member of the international trade community. Through its global locations and affiliates, the John S. James Co. offers international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, transportation, warehousing, foreign-trade zone and consulting solutions to the international marketplace. 

 

Polia Comella is a Senior Manager, Trade & Customs at Rockefeller Group Foreign Trade Zone Services, a division of Rockefeller Group Development Corporation and a part of The Rockefeller Group. The Rockefeller Group is a private corporation dedicated to excellence in commercial real estate and real estate services including foreign-trade zone feasibility, site selection, approval, activation and operational support services. Polia is a licensed customs broker, IATA/FIATA certified and an Accredited Zone Specialist (AZS). She formerly served as FTZ Administrator for a multinational apparel and outdoor gear retailer. Prior to that, Polia worked for a major freight forwarder and customs brokerage firm as a Customs Systems Development Supervisor. Polia has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a specialization in International Business and Information Systems from the University of Washington Business School. Polia is working towards her Masters Degree in Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University. Polia is an active member of the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones and participates on the Automation and Regulated Industries Committees.
